Survey of Hollywood, independent, and world film and video making since World War II and critical approaches to these media. 2033 Writing about Film: Analysis, Criticism, and the Industry. Prerequisite: 1013, English 1213 or Expository Writing 1213. This course teaches specialized writing skills for writing about film. Topics covered will include the vocabulary of film writing, basic cinema research skills and techniques to write for academic and general audiences. (F, Sp)
